# Privacy policy

This page describes what Xearch (https://xearch.pcstyle.tech) stores about the people who use it. Xearch is operated from Poland, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies.

## What we store

- **Guest sessions.** When you search, Xearch signs your browser in as an anonymous guest so your saved searches and bookmarks stay yours. No name or email is needed for this.
- **Searches.** The text, sort and result page of each search are kept in a temporary search session so the page can show results. Temporary sessions and link previews are deleted on a schedule that runs every ten minutes, and are kept for at most a day.
- **Saved searches and bookmarks.** Kept until you remove them. Only your session can read them.
- **Email digests.** If you ask Xearch to email you a result digest, your email address and the delivery status are stored and the email is sent through AgentMail.
- **Operator accounts.** People who run imports sign in with an email address. Visitors do not need one.

## Analytics

The public site uses PostHog to count page views and searches, measure performance and catch errors. Session recordings mask every input field, and email addresses are removed from events before they are sent. Analytics loads only after the page has finished loading and can be blocked without breaking search.

## Services that process data

Convex hosts the application and its database. PostHog processes analytics. AgentMail sends requested emails. Firecrawl fetches a linked web page only when you ask Xearch to read it, and OpenAI receives a natural-language request only when you ask Xearch to turn it into a query.

## Public posts

The search index holds public posts from X accounts that have been imported. See the [contact page](https://xearch.pcstyle.tech/contact.md) to ask for an account to be removed.

## Your rights

You can clear your guest session by clearing this site's storage in your browser. To ask for a copy of data tied to an email address, or for its deletion, email adam@pcstyle.dev.
